IMPORTANT CHANGES TO MICROSOFT 365 LICENCING
In March 2022 Microsoft is making changes to how 365 licences are bought and managed.
The main changes include:
- Licence terms will be changing from monthly terms to annual terms.
- There will be a premium rate to purchase licences on a monthly term.
- Decreasing the quantity of licences will not be permitted within the annual term.
What changes are there?
- Instead of a monthly term, you will now purchase licences on an annual term. But don’t worry, you can continue to pay monthly.
- Committing to a yearly term, will ensure that you will achieve the best possible price for your licences.
- A monthly term will still be available if you really need them, but they are subject to a 20% price premium.
- When committing to an annual term, quantity reduction and downgrades are not permitted.
What do you need to do to prepare for these changes?
Carry out an audit of all your current licences to ascertain the number required at the start of the yearly term. Integrity IT will help you with this.
Will I see a change in pricing?
Microsoft has announced that in March 2022, some Microsoft 365 licences will be subject to a price increase of around 15% which is the first significant price increase since Office 365 was released over a decade ago and reflects the value of innovation that has been added over the years.
